Registration Update relating to Covid-19

Planning for this year’s race is full steam ahead and registration is up 40% from last year! However, we realize that many potential runners are in a “wait and see” approach and we can certainly appreciate that. As we transition into our third tier of progressive pricing, and to help ease concerns, we wanted to share a couple of plans we have in place:

(1) We are freezing major spending amounts until we feel confident that those expenses would be reimbursed, or we feel there is no jeopardy in the need to cancel our event.

(2) We promise to communicate any and all potential discussions/concerns with you on our website, social media and email blasts.

(3) In the unfortunate chance that we have cancel our event, we will be offering NO CHARGE deferments or some type of refund and coupon good for Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon merchandise.

(4) Our event offers very low cost race insurance that covers illness or injury. While it will not cover event cancellations, this would be a great suggestion to save money and sign up prior to higher registration fees.

Nobody knows what the future will bring, but we assure you that we are committed to holding a safe, fun and well-organized race experience. If (and hopefully when) we get the “all-clear” we will be announcing some BIG THINGS that we think you will LOVE. Fingers crossed and get ready for some fun times ahead.

This was my first marathon and I couldn’t have chosen a better event. The organization of the race, the volunteers, and the community support. I can’t wait to run it again in 2020.

2019 RECAP

Scott Stauske, Race Director of The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, more affectionately known as LFM, says the marathon is an event that caters to runners of all abilities. Each year LFM hosts a large number of first-time marathoners, runners with their eye on a BQ, and veteran runners out to check off a new state. All of these people come together on the first Sunday of October.
