Registration is exceeding expectations!

As of today, we are excited to inform you that we have no restrictions due to Covid-19 and expect to  put on the 2021 Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon just the way you have come to expect; live and full of fun!

Of course, nobody can predict what can and will happen later in the year so we want you to be aware of some  plans we have in place:

  1.  We promise to communicate open and honestly with you.
  2. If our permits are limited or our medical partners deem that a smaller entry size is deemed necessary, we will eliminate the marathon relay option and be offering the registration slots based on the when you registered.  First in–first asked!  Sign up early and have the best chance of competing in 2021.
  3. If we are forced to cancel our event (we will not postpone), we will do so with lots of notice so you are not wondering.  We feel that we will have a “go/no go” by August.
  4. Should the event need to be cancelled, we will offer every registrant the opportunity to: defer entry to 2022 or a full refund (minus the registration fee).  We also offer very low cost race insurance (see info. at registration)

Why should you run our 40th Anniversary event and sign up NOW?

It is our 40th Anniversary!  If you’ve enjoyed our event in the past…just wait!!

  • Our volunteers are eagerly awaiting your return – they treat you like the “rock stars that you are”
  • We are excited to announce that we will be offering a 2-person marathon relay this year.  The distances splits are 13.7 miles (runner 1) and 12.5 miles (runner 2).  This is perfect for those looking to participate but want a shorter distance but you receive the same perks!  There is a limited number of teams that will be allowed–get in while you can!
  • First male and female finisher living in Wisconsin will receive a bonus!
  • First male or female finisher breaking our course records will receive a $5000 bonus!

Runners from across the world have come to appreciate the beautiful course, energetic volunteers and fans and the incredible value we offer.  If there was ever a time for you to find out why we have a 99.6% satisfaction rating…this will most definitely be the year!

Update on Race Plans as of 8.17.21

 Note from the R.D.

Are you excited yet? I know I am and so is the team of over 700 volunteers who are working hard on our 40th Anniversary celebration of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. Over the past several weeks, we have received many emails about switching races, editing your contact information and our plans regarding the Covid-19 outbreak. Please look below for information on how to make certain you are registered and what you need to do if your registration needs to be updated.

We have been planning for this 2021 event since January and we know you have been training for it for quite some time too. We will all be working even harder as our planning is put into action and your training plan mileage increases. We all want our efforts to come to fruition. I made a promise to you that we would communicate effectively and with that in mind, I wish to let you know where we stand:

Celebrating our 40th Anniversary with a new logo

When asked to paint a picture at age 10, most of us would be excited just to have someone guess what the picture is. At age 10, Kinsley Kohls was attracting the attention of accomplished artists and since then has blossomed into an artist that conceptualizes exactly what the finished product will look like and then sets out to do it.
