Registration is OPEN!

It is with great pride and hope that we are planning a live event to celebrate our 40th running and anniversary of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon on October 3, 2021.  Our event was cancelled last year and we know there is still much uncertainty but we feel the date of LFM gives us an excellent chance to return to some normalcy and offer an event you have been longing for.  Of course nobody can predict what can and will happen later in the year so we want you to be aware of some  plans we have in place:

    1.  We promise to communicate open and honestly with you.
    2. If our permits are limited or our medical partners deem that a smaller entry size is deemed necessary, we will eliminate the marathon relay option and be offering the registration slots based on the when you registered.  First in–first asked!  Sign up early and have the best chance of competing in 2021.
    3. If we are forced to cancel our event (we will not postpone), we will do so with lots of notice so you are not wondering.  We feel that we will have a “go/no go” by August.
    4. Should the event need to be cancelled, we will offer every registrant the opportunity to: defer entry to 2022 or a full refund (minus the registration fee).  We also offer very low cost race insurance (see info. at registration)

Why should you run our 40th Anniversary event and sign up NOW?

It is our 40th Anniversary!  If you’ve enjoyed our event in the past…just wait!!

    • Our volunteers are eagerly awaiting your return – they treat you like the “rock stars that you are”
    • We are excited to announce that we will be offering a 2-person marathon relay this year.  The distances splits are 13.7 miles (runner 1) and 12.5 miles (runner 2).  This is perfect for those looking to participate but want a shorter distance but you receive the same perks!  There is a limited number of teams that will be allowed–get in while you can!
    • First male and female finisher living in Wisconsin will receive a bonus!
    • First male or female finisher breaking our course records will receive a $5000 bonus!
    • In addition to the ‘brown bag” lunch, we will also be offering a hot entree this year!
    • …and did you see the jacket just for signing up by June 15th?

Runners from across the world have come to appreciate the beautiful course, energetic volunteers and fans and the incredible value we offer.  If there was ever a time for you to find out why we have a 99.6% satisfaction rating…this will most definitely be the year!

    2019 RECAP

Scott Stauske, Race Director of The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, says the marathon is an event that caters to runners of all abilities. Each year LFM hosts a large number of first-time marathoners, runners with their eye on a B.Q., and veteran runners out to check off a new state. All of these people come together on the first Sunday of October and all are awarded for their efforts!
