    MARATHON 101: A COMPLETE LAKEFRONT MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM

    The Marathon 101 training program is designed to guide first-time marathon runners to the finish line. We know that training can cause of lot of mental and physical issues and it is our goal to help you feel more confident, informed and excited to be running your race.

    We incorporated a variety of training runs including our marathon build-up program, Tuesday night track workouts, Wednesday night fun runs and supplemented them with a series of seminars and emails to help you avoid those little pitfalls that can derail even the best efforts. We will not only help you train smart but we will make it fun along the way.

    Oh, and the best part of the program is the cost. It’s FREE. All we ask is that you sign up for the 40th annual Lakefront Marathon, October 4, 2020, work hard to prepare and let us know how we can help!

    2020 LAKEFRONT MARATHON ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

    Looking to add a little extra something to your marathon training? Maybe you want to improve your time or just have a better training experience? Then we have the program just for you! Led by certified running coaches, we’ll work with you to put together a training program to fit your ability level and your lifestyle. We’ll also provide tricks and tips for training and race day, as well as guidance through the whole training process, all for only $150.00.

    WEEKLY BUILD-UP RUNS

    UPDATE:  Citing coronavirus concerns, we are unable to obtain the needed permits to conduct our organized group “build-up” runs in person.  Therefore, we are suggesting appropriate “virtual” routes to help keep you motivated.  NOTE:  We have taken the longer mile routes and created shorter loops to assist in hydration needs.

    The Badgerland Striders Lakefront Marathon build-up runs take place on Saturday or Sunday mornings at various locations in Milwaukee County with a 6-mile distance beginning in July. This FREE program, courtesy of the Badgerland Striders is one of the most powerful training programs you can take advantage of. Join your friends and make new ones on this run at your own pace opportunity.

    Aurora Sports Health provides running specialists at each of the build-up runs. These therapists and licensed athletic trainers provide evaluations and treatment recommendations. Their staff makes sure to address any runner’s concerns and are typically there until all runners have returned. A big thank you to Doc Gordon for being available to runners for questions and evaluations.
