Course Information

The Lakefront Marathon is a USATF certified course starting at Grafton High School. This flat and scenic point-to-point course travels south through rural countryside, quiet neighborhoods and finishes along the shores of Lake Michigan just north of the Milwaukee Art Museum at Veterans Park. The Lakefront Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying course.

Want some tips for running our course or have questions?  Course talk will be given by Dr. Jon Mueller at our LFM Expo at 10am and 1pm.



Water Stops and Porta Potties

Each aid station will have water, Lemon-lime Endurance Formula Gatorade, and portable toilets. GU brand gels (Tri-berry and Salted Caramel)  will be available on the course at approximately miles 7.5 and 19.5. Water stops are located approximately every two miles.


Runner Tracking

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is pleased to offer LIVE race tracking available to all athletes at no charge.  Runners must carry their GPS enabled phone for spectators to be able to locate you on the course. In addition, we will ALSO have the tradional mat timing that will send text messages to those tracking you. Instructions for how to sign up will be given to athletes a couple days prior to the race.
