Yes! The course been a Boston qualifier for 39 years–soon to be 40!
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon will allow for a limited number of deferrals on a first-need basis. In addition, we will be allowing bib-transfers. Both options will have a $25 processing fee and will only be available until September 1, 2020.
The race starts at 7:30 am and you must maintain a pace to finish in 6.5 hours (2pm). If you are behind pace at the halfway point of our event, we will kindly inform you and offer a shuttle ride to the finish line. Our course will systimatically close as the cutoff times are met. If you decide to continue, you must follow “rules of the road” and participate at your own risk. A shuttle will be traveling along the course. If you need to “drop” please let a course marshall know and they will arrange for a pick up.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to liability insurance, anyone that wishes to remain on our course without ability to finish by 2pm, we will request your bib. We will absolutely do our best to remain at the finish as long as possible and will offer your bib back when you are ready to cross the finish even though you will not receive an “official” time. Our new venue only allows us to keep the gates open for a limited-time but we will be there to greet you at a minimum to 3pm.
The expo and packet pick-up will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 from 9am-6pm. If you are unable to attend the Expo, you may have your race bib picked up by another as long as they have a copy of your confirmation and a signed statement authorizing them to do so. Those picking up bibs will need to show picure ID.
Runners will be sent an email prior to the Expo with their bib number revealed. You will need to know this number prior to picking up your bib. Lookups will be available at the expo.
Race Day packet pick up is available to those who selected the option PRIOR to Octover 4th. In the event you do NOT pick up your bib, they may be available at the start line for an additional $30 fee payable at that time. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO BIB–NO ENTRY.
Please come to the Expo! It’s worth it!
We understand that shirt brands and styles may fit differently from what you normally order and we certainly want you to be happy so we will gladly exchange shirts AFTER the race. You may bring your shirt to the finish area (merchandise tent) on Sunday and exchange it for whatever sizes may be available strictly based on a first-come basis.

FREE Transportation to the Start for RUNNERS ONLY
Runners can also be dropped off at Grafton High School on race morning but must park in one of the two “official” parking lots as directed by our volunteer parking marshalls. Parking anywhere else is subject to fines and towing of which you are responsible.
NOTE: We do not offer transportation from the finish to Grafton High School after the start of the race.

All runners will receive an official Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon drop bag at packet pick up. Put your items in that bag ONLY (backpacks and hydration packs need to be inside), tie the bottom bib tag onto the drawstrings and tie shut with a knot. A truck will be located on your way to the start line where you may drop it off. Items not retrieved after the race will be discarded and donated. Please do not your car keys, cell phone, wallet, or other items of value in your drop bag as race management will NOT be responsible for lost items.
Each aid station will have water, Lemon-lime Endurance Formula Gatorade, Bio-Freeze, Vasoline, bandages and portable toilets.
Salted Caramel and Tri-Berry flavored GU brand gels will be available at two aid stations on the course at approximately miles 7.5 and 19.5.
Headphones are allowed on the course although discouraged because of safety concerns.
IF you plan to compete for any overall or Age Group awards, please DO NOT wear headphones as they will disqualify you. It is YOUR responsibility to know the USATF rules. Officials will be on the course monitoring activity and we do not want to see anyone disappointed so plan ahead.
No, non-registered spectators are not allowed on the race course. Course Marshalls will act as additional official reviewers and are instructed to report any infractions, which may result in runner penalties, including disqualification.
Animals will also not be allowed on the course.
Hydration packs will be allowed but hey must be placed inside the clear “after race” bag that will be supplied to each runner at the Expo. as they travel to the start. The staff and volunteers of the Lakefront Marathon reserve the right to inspect any runner bags.
The Lakefront Marathon is a fast course and we are very excited to have many “elite” runners, including our overall Male and Female champions competing against one another and themselves. In addition to the overall M/F prize money awards for first-third ($1500, $1000 and $500 respectively) we are offering a $5,000 BONUS for the first Male and/or Female that will meet or beat our fastest recorded time (Male: 2:14:09/Female 2:39:15).

Top 3 overall awards (M/F) will be subject to testing and agree to have a chaperon follow them immediately after finishing until the time they can produce a testing sample. Prize money will be mailed to athletes as soon as test results confirm eligibility. The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon does not condone nor accept any athletes that do not adhere to all of the policies and rules of the USATF. Any violations will result in disqualification and athlete may be barred from competing at the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon for a period of 5 years.
