We know that many of our runners make the race even more meaningful by running to benefit a charity. We’d like to give all of you running for a charity the opportunity to tell us and your fellow runners about your charity commitment and what it means to you. Just send an e-mail to lakefrontmarathon@sbcglobal.net and tell us about your charity, provide a link to their website and/or your special fund-raising page, and tell us why this is special to you. We will post these on this Charity Page.

Team In Training is the signature event of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and is the largest endurance training program in the world! Since 1988, more than 420,000 TNT participants have raised over $1 billion for life saving cancer research and services to help blood cancer patients live longer, better lives! We train runners, walkers, cyclists and triathletes of all fitness levels to complete half and full marathons, century rides, and triathlons. In exchange for personalized training and support, participants fundraise to help support LLS's mission: To cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Help save lives. Be inspired. Change lives starting with your own. Join TNT in the fight against cancer. Be on the lookout for TNT runners at this years Lakefront Marathon, be sure to stop by our table at the expo and tent at the finish line.
I am honored to be part of the Lakefront Marathon this year and choose it for my very first marathon. I joined a wonderful team last year called The Ironheart Racing Team. This team is very important personally to me since we raise money for congenital heart disease research.
My son, James, was born with a complex congenital heart defect and has survived three open heart surgeries by the time he turned three. He is going to be five in September. His heart will never be fixed as he is living with a three chambered heart. Strides have been made in this area to give children and now adults living with a single ventricle defect a chance at a good life. However, there is so much more to learn and currently there is little to no federal funding when it comes to CHD research. This is why I feel so strongly about this team and everything it stands for.
I have set up a personal fundraising site hoping to raise $1,500 for the Children’s Heart Foundation by the time I run in the Lakefront Marathon. My site is www.active.com/donate/ironheartracingteam1/DanaFoucault.
Running for the Future of First Stage
This fall First Stage marks our 25th year of transforming lives through theater, and there is much to celebrate! First Stage has grown to become one of the nations most acclaimed childrens theaters and the second largest theater company in Milwaukee. Our Theater Academy, teaching life skills through stage skills, is the largest theater training program of its kind in the nation. As Wisconsin's leader in arts-in-education programming, First Stage's dynamic Theater in Education programs promote active learning in our schools and our community, serving nearly 20,000 children each year.
It has been a tremendous 25 years, but we're even more excited about what will happen in the years 25+. Inspired to help fulfull the future dreams of young people and their families, I have decided to attempt my first ever full Marathon, the Lakefront Marathon on October 2nd, and to dedicate my efforts as a fundraiser for the future of First Stage. I am Running for the Future of First Stage and our collective commitment to becoming better every day.
Or, join the team and start your own Fundraiser in support of our 25+ initiative!

Stephanie Wittman Memorial Scholorship
My senior year of high school I received the Stephanie Wittman Memorial scholarship, and words cannot describe how grateful I am/was for that. As I am sure many college students can attest, any money put towards school is a huge relief. A scenario I refer to as "college rich, financially poor." I could not be more appreciative of the opportunities that the scholarship and my education have brought me, and I could not think of a better way to show gratitude than by raising money to put into the scholarship foundation that helped me out in the beginning of my education.
I am running the marathon and raising money for the Stephanie Wittman Memorial Scholarship. My hope is to have friends, family, businesses, and anyone else donate money towards the scholarship so someone else can continue their education and carry on Stephanie's memory.
