Yes! The course is USATF certified (WI11041DM) and has been a Boston qualifier for 37 years–soon to be 38!

If you signed up for registration refund insurance during online registration you will have to contact the third party service.  HERE IS HOW

While we do NOT offer refunds or allow transfers, we WILL allow 50 deferrals based on a first-come basis through August 31, 2018.  The cost for deferring from the 2018 event to 2019 race is $25.  If you want/need a deferral, please click DEFERRAL INSTRUCTIONS

You may walk but you must maintain a pace to finish in 6.5 hours.  If you are behind pace at the halfway point of our event, we will alert you and offer a shuttle ride to the finish line if you wish.

The expo and packet pick-up will be held on Saturday, Octtober 6th, 2018 from 9am-6pm.  If you are unable to attend the Expo, you may have your race bib available at the start area for an additional $25 fee.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

We allow you to have someone else pick up your packet if they have their ID and a photocopy or picture of your ID.

We understand that shirt brands and styles may alter from what you ordered but in fareness to all runners, we will not exchange the shirt you ordered prior to race start.  You may bring your shirt to the finish area (merchandise tent) on Sunday and exchange it for whatever sizes may be available.

FREE Transportation to the Start.

We encourage runners to use the free shuttle bus service to the start area. Please note that the bus service to the start is only for registered runners. The buses going to the start do not return to the parking area or the finish line. Runners can get on the shuttle buses at the following locations:

  • General Race Day Parking at the Italian Community Center-631 E Chicago Street.  Buses load from 5:15am-6:15am
  • The Westin Milwaukee-550 N Van Buren Street.  Buses load only at 6:00am.
  • Hyatt Regency Milwaukee-333 W Kilbourn Avenue. Buses load only at 6:00 am.
  • Courtyard Marriott Milwaukee-300 W Michigan Street. Buses load only at 6:00 am.

Parking at the Italian Community Center is free to register runners who show their race bib or confirmation email (runners with race day packet pick up).  Please enter the parking lot from Jackson Street.  Portable toilets will be available near the shuttle bus pick up area.

Spectators may park at the Italian Community Center-631 E Chicago Street.  There is a $5.00 fee to park.  Round trip shuttles will run continuously from 9:00 am to 2:00pm between the Italian Community Center and the finish area.

Spectators can also park at the O’Donnel parking structure-910 E Michigan Street and walk to the finish area.  There is a fee to park in this lot.

Runners can also be dropped off at Grafton High School on race morning.  Please keep in mind that Grafton High School is under construction and there will be limited access to the parking lot.

NOTE:  We do not offer transportation from the finish to Grafton High School after the start of the race.

Pacers for 2018 will cover finish times ranging from approx. 3:15 to 6:30. Check out the pace team table at the expo for more details and to meet the pacers.  See all the tentative pacing times here.

All runners will receive an official Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon drop bag at packet pick up.  Put your items in that bag ONLY and drop it off at the truck parked near the start line.  Items not retrieved after the race will be discarded.  Please do not your car keys, cell phone, wallet, or other items of value in your drop bag.

Each aid station will have water, Lemon-lime Endurance Formula Gatorade, and portable toilets.

Gels will be available on the course at approximately miles 7.5 and 19.5.  NOTE:  We have used PoweGel in the past but they are no longer being made.  A new supplier will be announced as soon as we can.

Headphones are allowed on the course although discouraged because of safety concerns.  If you are competing for any type of prize, you may NOT use headphones.  It is YOUR responsibility to be aware of all USATF rules and regulations.

No, non-registered spectators are not allowed on the race course.

No, strollers are not allowed on the course per insurance and permitting.

The Lakefront Marathon is a fast course and we are very excited to have many “elite” runners competing against one another and themselves.  In fact, it looks like we have participants that will be competing for the $5,000 bonus’.  If you consider yourself an “elite” please contact Kyle Fraser for information/benefits.

Please leave your dog at home.  For safety and permit concerns, animals are not allowed on the course. Milwaukee County ordinances also prohibit dogs in the county parks; this includes the finish area and several of the water stops.

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is held the first Sunday of October.  Registration information will be available on our website.
